31st January
Latest date for submitting the Tax Return for the year ending on the previous 5th April (£100 penalty rising to £1,300 if 7 months late).
Latest date on which the Inland Revenue can open a routine Tax investigation for the Tax Return due, & submitted by, the previous 31st January.
Latest date for numerous Tax election.
The balance of the Tax due for the year ending on the previous 5th April.
Tax due for the first payment on account for the Tax year ending on following 5th April.
1st March
5% surcharge due on all tax still unpaid in respect of the balancing payment of tax due on the previous 31st January.
19th May
PAYE (& CIS) Annual Returns due for the year ending on the previous 5th April (Penalty of £100 per month for each batch of up to 50 employees, with an additional 100% penalty becoming due on any PAYE/NI overdue one year after the due date).
31st May
Date by which annual forms P60 must be given to each employee.
6th July
Filing date for submission of Benefit-in-Kind forms (P11D & P11D b) for the year ending on the previous 5th April, together with the National Insurance due on Benefits-in–kind (Class 1A) – the details on the P11D must also be given to each employee (Penalty of £100 per month for each batch of up to 50 employees, with a maximum of £300 plus £60 per day thereafter).
31st July
Tax due for the second payment on account for the Tax year ending on the previous 5th April. Additional Penalty due of £100 for outstanding Tax Returns which should have been submitted by the previous 31st January. A further 5% surcharge due on all tax still unpaid in respect of the balancing payment of tax due on the previous 31st January.
31st October
Last day that records can be submitted to us to guarantee that we complete your Tax Return by the following 31st January deadline.
